Melissa Sharpe, MSW, LCW, Certified School Social Worker, received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. Realizing her love for the helping profession, she went on to receive her Master of Social Work, with a concentration in Children and Families, from Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work. She has been practicing in this field since 2000. Melissa has extensive clinical experience providing psychotherapeutic services for children, adolescents, couples, families, adults, and groups. She has a firm understanding of psychiatric disorders, group psychotherapy, domestic violence issues, and the dynamics of counseling children and families. Her preferred treatment modalities, though not limited to, include cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, and brief psychotherapy. Researched-based, theoretical frameworks guide Melissa’s case conceptualizations and intervention strategies.
Melissa has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including private practice, a domestic violence agency, an in-patient psychiatric hospital, and several school districts. She understands the complexities of working with diverse populations and has expertise in the area of school social work and child study teams.
Holly Deschenes, MA, LPC, Certified School Psychologist, received her undergraduate degree from St. Johns University. Understanding the importance of obtaining an advanced degree in order to practice effective clinical psychotherapy, she continued her education and received both her Master's in Counseling and a professional Diploma in School Psychology from New Jersey City University. Holly has been practicing psychotherapy with culturally and ethnically diverse populations since 1998. Moreover, she has extensive experience counseling children, families, couples, and individuals. Holly has distinct knowledge and skills in providing services through a multitude of treatment modalities. Some of her preferred approaches includes those adapted from family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and brief psychotherapy. Holly, too, has a concrete understanding of psychiatric disorders, the dynamics of group psychotherapy, and child and family-centered counseling.
Holly has been employed in a range of psychotherapeutic settings, including private practice, community mental health centers, and school districts.
